Government Contracts

An adhesion contract is a contract crafted unilaterally by one-party with power and forced upon another party. The relationship between the State or Federal government and general contractors is easily compared to a contract of adhesion. The government has the power, the money and with as much work that is put out for contract, the government also has the ability to make the rules. As such, general contractors and subcontractors are often put in an unenviable and difficult position. OSO does not specialize in negotiating government contracts or being involved in administrative appeals. OSO’s focus has been to assist it’s clients in moving a cause of action against a governmental agency into the courtroom when unfair advantage has resulted. Not all cases are triable in court due to well-established immunity laws. However, many cases are better brought in the courtroom where judges and juries are adept to understand the balance of power and often detest the situation when a government entity has wrongfully taken advantage of its position.
